The North Iowa Food for Families food bank is well stocked for the Thanksgiving holiday, thanks to the efforts of local children, community members, and Valero Renewables.
Cub Scout Pack 4445 teamed up with the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Youth Group on Saturday, Nov. 14 to collect food from households in Buffalo Center, Lakota and Rake. The kids went around the three communities that day to pick up items that people left by their doors for the food bank, and they gathered 844 items weighing 780 pounds. The kids delivered the items to the food bank on Monday of last week.
