Weekly farmers markets are underway for the summer in Buffalo Center, as North Iowa Betterment organized the first event of the season last Tuesday afternoon at the lot east of Bison Laserwash on Highway 9. Three vendors took part during the first week, selling produce, farm fresh eggs, and jams and jellies.
Mary Walk had spring produce items for sale, including spinach, lettuce, peas and radishes. She is a regular at the BC farmers market, and she also has a farm stand at her acreage in rural Thompson where people can pick up fresh produce at their convenience.
