On Friday, August 16th, the ukulele (and string) band I play in is delivering an eleven song set (give or take) on the MidAmerican Energy Stage at the Iowa State Fair. It is, for me, the biggest, and scariest, thing I’ve ever done musically. By a lot.
When I started playing in 2016, and posted my first of a large handful of videos on social media of myself singing along to my own accompaniment, most people I knew were downright shocked I could sing. It just wasn’t something I shared with people, which is strange because singing is my favorite thing to do.
