Wednesday is James McGuire Day in Buffalo Center

The City of Buffalo Center will recognize the community’s long-time Physician’s Assistant, Jim McGuire, on Wednesday, Nov. 10, as Mayor John Davids has proclaimed that day as James McGuire Day.

Wednesday marks McGuire’s last day of work at MercyOne Buffalo Center Family Medicine, as he is retiring after 43 years of helping patients in Winnebago County. He started out working for Dr. Robert Haakenson in Forest City in 1978, and he began also seeing patients at the Park Clinic in Buffalo Center in 1980. The Park Clinic disbanded and became part of the Mercy network in 1993.
