North Iowa Community School will have a part-time superintendent beginning with the 2021-2022 school year, as the Board of Directors voted last Tuesday to offer Supt. Joe Erickson a three day per week contract beginning in July.
The Board took the action in the interest of the District’s financial health, with hopes of being able to put the savings toward another position. Erickson notes North Iowa’s enrollment dropped by about 30 students this year, and the superintendent position is usually a school district’s highest paid employee.
