Dean Hartman

Dean Hartman, 82, of Los Altos, CA passed away Monday, Oct. 9, 2023 at the Los Altos hospital. He was born on April 19, 1941 in Buffalo Center, the son of Adolph and Nellie Hartman.

Dean graduated from Buffalo Center High School in 1959 and Mankato State University in 1963. In November 1963, he was drafted into the army, and after basic, he was stationed at White Sands, NM, where he worked in missile development. Upon returning home in 1965, Dean received a job offer from Lockheed Corporation in Sunnyvale, CA – again in missile development. Dean took the job and stayed until retirement. While there, he met and married Rose Janzalla. Dean and Rose had no children.

Survivors include two brothers, Gene of Buffalo Center and Foster of Lake Mills.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Rose; parents, Adolph and Nellie; sister, Lois Holtorf; brother Roger; step mother, Evelyn; step brothers Howard and Halland Hopkins.

Dean’s cremains will be buried beside his wife in her home town of Red Creek, NY.
