COVID-19 spread accelerates locally

The coronavirus continues to spread at a growing rate in Winnebago County, as 89 new positive cases of COVID-19 have been identified in the county since last Tuesday. As of Monday, Nov. 9, there were 635 confirmed cases in the county, including 282 active cases.

Kossuth County saw an even greater rise in cases over the past week, with 648 positive cases reported as of Monday. That’s an increase of 126 cases since last Tuesday. Kossuth County also has a large number of active cases, with 270.

No new deaths have been reported in Winnebago County due to the illness, but Kossuth County recorded its first death related to COVID-19 in the last week.
